The inherent purpose of human creation is inextricably linked to the concept of the afterlife. Without belief in a subsequent existence, the unique capacity for moral discernment—the ability to distinguish between good and evil—becomes inexplicable. Unlike animals, humans possess an innate moral sense, a universal understanding of ethical values that transcends cultural boundaries. This raises a crucial question: if actions do not consistently yield just outcomes in this world, must there not be a reckoning in another? The Quran, in Surah Al-Imran, emphasizes this accountability, questioning whether humanity was created aimlessly. This notion underscores the idea that the All-Powerful, Truthful King will inevitably reward the righteous and justly address the transgressors. Disbelief in this ultimate justice leads to failure and loss. The plea for forgiveness and mercy, as expressed in the Quran, highlights Allah's supreme compassion.
