727 - AT TEHREEM (Ayat# 06-09)
Protecting oneself and one's family from the fires of Hell is a fundamental duty in Islam. This encompasses not only providing for their physical needs but, more crucially, guiding them towards righteousness and fostering a strong connection with their faith. Neglecting this spiritual responsibility is a grave error. Parents and guardians are entrusted with nurturing a religious inclination within their children and dependents, offering sincere instruction and setting a positive example. While acknowledging imperfections – even Prophet Nuh’s son strayed – consistent effort and heartfelt counsel are paramount. True love manifests in safeguarding loved ones from divine punishment, not merely fulfilling material obligations. The importance of sincere repentance (tawbah) is highlighted, emphasizing a complete turning away from sin and a commitment to following the path of Allah and His Messenger. This includes a reevaluation of priorities, directing one's life towards the Hereafter, and striving to live in accordance with Islamic principles. Ultimately, accountability rests with each individual, and those who reject guidance will face the consequences of their choices.
