He inquired if they bore witness to the truth of the declaration: ‘There is no god but Allah, and I am His Messenger, and this Quran is from Allah.’ They affirmed their testimony. The Prophet then instructed them to rejoice, for the Quran is a treasure both in their hands and with Allah.

The lecture clarifies that love for anyone or anything should not equal or exceed love for God. Equating love with God constitutes *shirk* (associating partners with God). The Quran states some people create equals to God and love them as they should love God. True believers, however, possess a stronger love for God. Love for parents and children is permissible, but it must not surpass the love for God. This principle ensures devotion remains solely to God, preventing the elevation of created beings to a level comparable to the Creator.

The process of self-purification involves internalizing the Quran – understanding it with your intellect, reflecting upon it in your thoughts, and illuminating your heart with its guidance. This inner illumination dispels darkness and washes away impurities, much like leaves falling from trees in autumn. Faith, once established, generates an inner light that permeates the entire being. This requires controlling base instincts, detaching from worldly desires like wealth and power, and purifying one’s character from vices. The Quran is the primary source for achieving this purification.

Hadrat Jaber ibn Abdullah states that a believer in God and the Day of Judgement should never be alone with a non-mahram woman. Any meeting should occur in the presence of a mahram (close male relative). This principle applies to both meetings and travel. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized that when a man and a non-mahram woman are alone, a third party – Shaytan – is present. Hadrat Ibn Abbas narrates a similar instruction: a man should not be alone with a woman unless a mahram accompanies her, and a woman should not travel without a mahram.
