022-AL-BAQARAH (Ayat 35-36)
The narrative details the initial placement of Adam and his wife in Paradise, emphasizing a demonstration of the distinction between good and evil. It highlights that while permitted to enjoy all of Paradise, they were cautioned against approaching a specific tree. This served as a test to reveal the presence of Shaytan, their inherent enemy, and his capacity for temptation. The expulsion from Paradise resulted in a shift to a life of hardship, marked by the constant struggle against Shaytan's influence and the emergence of conflict between humans. The Quran emphasizes the provision of sustenance and a temporary settlement on Earth, ultimately destined for a final reckoning when creation will be folded up. The text also addresses inherent conflicts—between humanity and Shaytan, and within humanity itself—noting the potential for spouses and children to become sources of trial.
