336 - HOOD (Ayat# 84-88)
Prophet Shu'aib’s mission centered on correcting societal imbalances among his people, who had become dishonest in their trade and disregarded divine guidance. He urged them to uphold justice in measurements and weights, condemning practices like shortchanging others and spreading corruption. This message, delivered amidst a thriving commercial intersection of ancient trade routes, resonated with the need for ethical conduct. Shu’aib emphasized that any surplus gained through honest trade – 'Baqiyat Allah' – was a blessing from God and should be appreciated. His people, however, rejected his call, clinging to their flawed beliefs and asserting their right to manage their wealth as they pleased. This resistance highlighted a fundamental conflict between divine accountability and unchecked self-interest. Shu’aib clarified he was merely a messenger conveying Allah’s command, not a guarantor of their fate, and their ultimate choice would determine their destiny.
