Surah Al-Fatiha, the opening chapter of the Quran, holds immense significance in Islamic tradition. It is considered a complete Quranic verse in its own right, possessing a status equivalent to the entire Quran due to its profound importance and virtue. This Surah is an essential component of every prayer (Salah), and its recitation is obligatory. The narrative highlights the divine bestowal of blessings upon Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), even amidst the skepticism and mockery of figures like Abu Jahl and Walid ibn Mughirah. While they perceived the Prophet as lacking worldly wealth, Allah had granted him the seven verses of Surah Al-Fatiha, a gift exceeding any material possession. The text emphasizes that worldly possessions held by the disbelievers are inconsequential compared to the divine provisions bestowed upon the Prophet. It also addresses the proper etiquette towards the poor and needy believers, encouraging humility and reverence in their reception, and reiterates the Prophet’s role as a clear warner and deliverer of the message. The discourse also touches upon the rejection of the Quran by some and the inevitable accountability before Allah.
