The universe's origin is a central theme in both religious and scientific inquiry. Modern cosmology, particularly the Big Bang theory, posits an initial state of extreme density and temperature that rapidly expanded, leading to the formation of galaxies and stars. This concept resonates with the Quranic description of creation through the command of Allah—'Be, and it is.' The Quran, unlike earlier beliefs in eternal matter, aligns with the scientific understanding that the universe had a beginning. This initial expansion gave rise to a luminous, non-thermal 'Noor,' from which angels and the souls of humanity were created, preceding the formation of the physical world. Later, an explosion within this Noor led to the creation of fire and intensely hot particles, ultimately forming the physical universe. This process also saw the emergence of Jinn from the fire, and subsequently, the formation of Earth and its atmosphere. The Quranic narrative and scientific findings concerning the universe's creation, while originating from different methodologies, demonstrate a remarkable degree of compatibility.
