The Quran describes how the splendor of earthly life can distract humanity from remembrance of Allah and the afterlife. This distraction, likened to a shimmering facade, leads many astray, fostering a belief that material possessions represent true success. The narrative of the People of the Cave (Ashab al-Kahf) serves as a powerful example of seeking refuge in faith during times of persecution. During the reign of the Roman Empire and subsequent Jewish rebellion, a group of young believers sought shelter in a cave to protect their faith. They were granted a miraculous sleep by Allah for centuries, awakening to a world transformed. This event, considered a sign by many, highlights the transient nature of worldly power and the enduring strength of faith. The story of Ashab al-Kahf demonstrates that true guidance lies not in material wealth or worldly glory, but in unwavering devotion to Allah.
