The Quran describes a trial that all humans will face, involving a bridge known as Sirat, mentioned in Surah Hadid and Surah Tahrim. This bridge, positioned over Hellfire, will be crossed by individuals to witness the fate of the disbelievers and those who rejected divine guidance. The righteous, those with Taqwa, will be granted salvation by Allah’s mercy, while the unjust will fall into the depths of Jahannam. The verses emphasize that everyone will ultimately be brought before Allah for judgment, and the true worth of individuals will be revealed, exposing the arrogance of those who opposed the truth in life. The account recalls instances of past nations, such as Aad, Thamud, and the people of Shu’aib, who were destroyed for their disbelief. Allah grants respite to those who stray, allowing them to accumulate sins until the appointed time of reckoning. Ultimately, the day of judgment will reveal who holds the better position and the stronger support.
