The gradual revelation of the Quran was a deliberate act, differing from the single-volume delivery of the Torah to Moses. Early opponents questioned this method, drawing parallels to the incremental composition of poetic works. However, this approach served a vital purpose: to firmly establish the message within the hearts and minds of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the early Muslim community. The piecemeal revelation allowed for timely responses to contemporary challenges, offering solace and encouragement during times of hardship. It demonstrated that the struggles faced by the nascent Muslim community were not unique, mirroring the experiences of past prophets like Noah, Hud, and Saleh, all ultimately aided by Allah. This provided strength and reassurance to the believers, reinforcing their faith and conviction. The Quran’s progressive revelation was thus a source of both guidance and psychological support.
