The cyclical nature of religious movements often leads to the formation of factions and adherence to lineage rather than principle. While initial zeal and dedication may drive a movement's early success, subsequent generations can become entrenched in maintaining the status quo, prioritizing familial and social ties over the core message. This phenomenon stems from a natural human tendency to preserve established relationships—friendships, kinship, and business associations—even when confronted with clear evidence of a different path. The Prophet Ibrahim’s legacy illustrates this pattern; while his descendants continued to receive divine guidance through Isaac and Jacob, the prophetic lineage eventually culminated in Ismail. The establishment of renewers (mujadideen) in every century serves to revitalize the faith and address deviations, but even these efforts can be undermined by the formation of sectarianism. Allah has ordained three mechanisms to safeguard the true message: preservation of the Quran, the raising of renewers, and the continued existence of a righteous community. Identifying where divine work is occurring today, rather than remaining tied to group affiliation, is crucial for genuine progress.
