The Quran addresses the complex relationship between divine decree (Qadar) and human free will. It clarifies that while Allah has knowledge of all things, individuals are accountable for their actions. The text emphasizes that no soul bears the burden of another, even a close relative, and highlights the consequences of rejecting divine guidance. It underscores that true guidance is only for those who fear Allah, and the realities of the unseen will be revealed in due time. The distinction between those who are mindful and those who are heedless is drawn, likening the latter to ‘living dead’ – those whose hearts have lost spiritual vitality. True life resides in a living heart, while those devoid of faith are compared to animals. The ultimate return is to Allah, and understanding is bestowed upon those with knowledge and a foundational belief. The Quran also points to the signs of Allah in creation – the diverse colors of fruits and foliage, the layered strata of mountains – as proof of His power and wisdom. Ultimately, Allah is the Most Powerful, the Most Forgiving.
