The Quran details the creation of humankind from clay, specifically Adam. The process involved meticulous shaping and refinement, culminating in the infusion of divine spirit (Ruh) into him. This act of imbuing the Ruh distinguished Adam, leading to the prostration of the angels before him. This prostration wasn't based on Adam's form at that moment, but on the divine command and the presence of the divine spirit. Iblis, however, refused to prostrate, demonstrating his arrogance and revealing his inherent disbelief. Allah questioned Iblis regarding his disobedience, inquiring about the reason for his refusal to prostrate before a being created with divine hands—representing both worldly and spiritual creation. Iblis asserted his superiority, claiming to be created from fire while Adam was created from clay. Consequently, Iblis was banished and condemned to the Day of Judgment. This narrative highlights the unique status of humankind, possessing both a physical body and a divine soul, making us a bridge between the material and spiritual realms.
