The concept of Ibadah, or worship, extends beyond mere ritualistic practices. It encompasses complete submission and devotion to Allah, rooted in both obedience and heartfelt love. This understanding emphasizes that true worship isn't simply performing religious observances, but cultivating a sincere connection with the Divine. The Quran highlights that outward acts of worship, such as prayer and prostration, are the external manifestations of an internal state of devotion. The core of Ibadah lies in complete and sincere obedience, akin to the selfless service of a slave. However, it is the element of love that elevates obedience to the level of worship. Without genuine affection and reverence, actions become mechanical and lack spiritual significance. The ultimate goal is to purify one's intentions and dedicate all actions solely to Allah, seeking His pleasure in every endeavor. This requires a conscious effort to eliminate any form of association or self-interest, striving for complete reliance on and submission to the Divine will. The Quran stresses the importance of being the first to submit, modeling righteous conduct for others.
