The narrative recounts the visit of angels to Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and their subsequent journey to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. These cities, inhabited by a corrupt populace, were destined for divine punishment due to their egregious sins. Upon arriving, the angels encountered a lack of hospitality and were met with hostility. Ibrahim's concern for his nephew, Lot (Lut), and his family led him to intercede with Allah. The angels rescued Lot and his family before unleashing a rain of stones upon the cities, obliterating them and their inhabitants, except for those who believed. The destruction serves as a warning and a sign for those who fear the painful punishment of Allah, the All-Knowing and the All-Wise. Remnants of these cities are believed to lie at the bottom of the Dead Sea, serving as a lasting testament to divine justice.
