Surah Al-Inshiqaq explores the stages of the soul's journey after death and the ultimate reckoning before Allah. It details the experience of the dying, the questioning in the grave, and the varying fates awaiting individuals based on their deeds. The surah contrasts the righteous, who are among the ‘muqarrabin’ (those close to Allah) and receive comfort and paradise, with those who were among the ‘ashab al-yamin’ (people of the right hand) and receive a lesser reward. Conversely, it condemns the deniers and those who strayed from the truth, facing a scorching punishment. The surah emphasizes the inevitability of accountability and the importance of sincere belief and righteous actions. It concludes with a call to glorify Allah, the Most Great, as revealed in the repeated phrase ‘Subhan Rabbika al-Azim’.
