741 - AL MA'ARIJ (Ayat# 20-35)
The foundation of a strong character lies in a connection with the divine. This discourse explores the importance of remembrance of Allah and its impact on the human soul, contrasting the spiritual realm with the imperfections of worldly existence. It highlights the consequences of spiritual detachment, leading to a base existence driven by worldly desires. The discussion draws parallels between the early verses of Surah Al-Muminun and a previous lesson on the significance of establishing consistent prayer (Salah). True sincerity in worship, manifested through humility (Khushu’) and regular observance, is presented as a cornerstone of self-improvement. This is further linked to fulfilling one's social responsibilities, particularly the obligation of Zakat – giving to the needy and upholding trusts. The concept of accountability on the Day of Judgement and the transient nature of life are emphasized, urging individuals to value time and abstain from frivolous pursuits. Maintaining integrity, fulfilling promises, and safeguarding one’s modesty are also discussed as essential components of a righteous life, culminating in the promise of honor and reward in Paradise.
