The initial period of the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) prophethood was marked by a time of introspection and contemplation within the Cave of Hira. During this period, he engaged in deep thought about the state of society, morality, and the divine. This eventually led to the first revelations, bringing with it a sense of both awe and immense responsibility. The initial message emphasized the importance of recognizing Allah, the Creator, and the accountability of humanity before Him. This wasn't a call to establish a secluded monastic order or a system of mere education, but a summons to acknowledge and uphold the greatness of Allah, and to establish the Divine Order—din—in all aspects of life. The core of this message, conveyed through the Surah Al-Inam, is the concept of *inzār*, warning people of the afterlife and the consequences of their actions. This message highlights that humans are not merely animals destined for oblivion, but possess a sacred trust—amanah—a divine spirit bestowed by Allah. This trust carries a responsibility for which all will be held accountable.
