Surah Al-Mursalat and Surah An-Naba, positioned at the end and beginning of the 30th Juz’ respectively, exhibit a significant thematic relationship. Both Surahs primarily focus on the descriptions of the Day of Judgment and the events that will unfold. These Surahs, along with Surah Al-Saaffat and Surah Ad-Dariyat, collectively emphasize the impending reality of the afterlife. Surah Al-Saaffat, appearing earlier, details the angels, while Surah Ad-Dariyat focuses on the winds, establishing a pattern of relating these events to natural phenomena. The initial verses of Surah Al-Mursalat refer to the ‘Mursalat’ – a subject of differing interpretations, with some scholars attributing it to winds and others to angels. These winds are described as being sent gently at first, then intensifying into severe storms, and ultimately carrying clouds that bring both beneficial rain and destructive consequences. A point of contention revolves around whether the ‘dhikr’ (remembrance) being sent through these means refers to prophetic messages delivered via angels, or the natural reminders of Allah's power through the winds themselves. This Surah, like others in this series, underscores the certainty of the divine promise and the accountability that awaits all.
