The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once asked his companions about bankruptcy. They defined it as having no money. The Prophet corrected them, stating the true bankrupt is one who comes with prayers, fasts, and pilgrimages, but also carries the burden of wronged individuals. On the Day of Judgment, these individuals will present their claims—insults endured, property unjustly taken, and false accusations made. The bankrupt’s good deeds will be distributed to satisfy these claims, and if deeds are insufficient, the sins of those wronged will be added to his burden, leading to his ultimate ruin. This lecture explains the severe consequences of harming others and emphasizes the importance of justice and reconciliation.
