This lecture clarifies the varying degrees of authenticity in Hadith literature. Not all Hadith are equal; the Quran is entirely authoritative. Scholars meticulously graded Hadith based on their reliability, categorizing them by strength of narration. Weak Hadith (Da'eef) differ significantly from fabricated (Mawdu') Hadith. While fabricated Hadith are entirely rejected, weak Hadith can be used for virtuous deeds but not for establishing legal rulings or matters of permissibility. The Quran’s verses are absolute, while Hadith require scrutiny. Scholars differentiate between levels of Hadith to determine their applicability in belief and practice.
