This lecture details a comparison between Hazrat Umar and Abu Bakr’s devotion to charity during the Tabuk campaign. Hazrat Umar intended to surpass Abu Bakr in giving, dividing his wealth in half – donating one portion and retaining the other for his family. When questioned by the Prophet Muhammad, Umar confirmed he had reserved half for his family. Abu Bakr, however, declared he had given everything to God and His Messenger, leaving nothing for his household. The narration highlights Abu Bakr’s exceptional piety and the three generations of his family who remained steadfast in their faith – Abu Qahafah, Abu Bakr himself, and his children, Aishah, Asma, and Abdur Rahman. This exemplifies a rare and profound level of commitment to God.
