and protecting secrets. These women are dutiful and responsible, protecting
household wealth, upholding their own honor and that of their husbands, and
maintaining the confidentiality of family matters. They are entrusted with
the safety of possessions during their husband’s absence, act as guardians of
family honor, and are the primary keepers of private information.
