Nehrawan Ki Jang Aur Khawarij - Dr Israr Ahmad
This lecture details the Battle of Nahrawan between Hazrat Ali and the Khawarij, resulting in the elimination of approximately four thousand Khawarij. It explains that despite their strict adherence to principle and piety, the Khawarij conspired to assassinate Hazrat Ali, Muawiyah, and Amr ibn al-As. The assassination plot was carried out by Ibn Muljim against Hazrat Ali, and attempts were made on Muawiyah and Amr ibn al-As. Hazrat Ali was martyred, Muawiyah was wounded, and Amr ibn al-As remained unharmed. The lecture establishes that the Khawarij's actions stemmed from the broader Saba'iyyah heresy, and Hazrat Ali’s era was marked by internal conflict. He is considered one of the most esteemed companions of the Prophet Muhammad, second only to Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman, and held the highest rank among the Sahaba.
