Qarz e Hasan aur Riba - Dr Israr Ahmad
Dr. Israr Ahmad explains the distinction between interest-free loans (Qarz e Hasan) and riba (interest). He details four levels of financial transactions, starting with the ideal of a loan with no expectation of return, and progressing to prohibited forms of interest. He emphasizes that a true Qarz e Hasan involves releasing the debtor from obligation if they face extreme hardship, and even suggests treating it as charity. He contrasts this with transactions where profit is derived from another’s labor, deeming it unacceptable. He highlights that giving in charity for the sake of Allah's pleasure is vastly superior, and its rewards are multiplied, while profit gained through interest is considered undesirable. He references Quranic verses condemning riba and praises the virtue of sincere charity.
