The Quran, in Surah An'am, details three forms of divine punishment. The first is affliction from above, such as celestial disasters. The second involves calamities rising from beneath one's feet, like earthquakes. The most severe form, however, is internal conflict: societal division, mutual animosity, and ultimately, self-destruction through violence. This highlights that Allah's punishment isn't always external; it can manifest as the consequences of humanity’s own actions and internal strife. The verse emphasizes that Allah doesn't require dramatic displays of power to punish wrongdoing; societal collapse from within is sufficient.
