Sahaba e Karam ki Shan - Dr Israr Ahmad
This lecture addresses the ongoing sectarian conflict between Sunni and Shia Muslims, attributing it to publications containing disrespectful content towards the companions of the Prophet Muhammad, wives of the Prophet, and the early caliphs. The speaker argues that until these publications are banned, the conflict will persist, manifesting in different forms. He emphasizes the importance of protecting the honor of the Sahaba (companions) and the Ahl al-Bayt (family of the Prophet) as integral to Islamic faith, drawing a parallel to the severe punishment prescribed for disrespecting the Prophet himself. He recounts the failure of a previous committee formed by Nawaz Sharif to address this issue due to internal disagreements, and suggests a minimum fourteen-year ban on such offensive material. The speaker warns that suppressing the issue in one place will only cause it to resurface elsewhere, likening it to a diabetic condition.
