This lecture explores the intrinsic link between gratitude and worship, positing that genuine thankfulness naturally evolves into an act of devotion. A healthy human nature manifests through the feeling of gratitude when receiving kindness. The impulse to reciprocate good deeds is a sign of a sound disposition. Conversely, an inability to feel grateful indicates a corrupted nature. The natural inclination to repay kindness extends to all levels of existence, from parents and neighbors to the very forces of nature like the sun and rain. When direct reciprocation is impossible, acknowledgement of the benefactor’s greatness through praise and humility becomes the ultimate expression of gratitude and worship. Recognizing the ultimate source of all blessings—the one true Lord—is the foundation of all true devotion. This recognition unites all forms of worship and service to the divine, acknowledging that all provision and sustenance originates from a single, all-powerful Creator.
