Surah Baqarah: Shariat ki Ibtdaiyat - Beginning of Islamic Law
Dr. Israr Ahmad explains the wisdom behind the placement of Surah Baqarah at the beginning of the Quran. He argues this placement prioritizes establishing the foundational Islamic law (Shariat) for the nascent Muslim community. Initially, faith (Iman) preceded the laws, as seen with the Sahaba. However, with the establishment of the Ummah, Shariat became the initial point of entry for new Muslims, allowing gradual development of inner faith. Surah Baqarah represents the beginning of this legal framework, while Surah Bayyinah signifies its completion. The lecture highlights the importance of prioritizing legal adherence to foster faith, especially within a community context. This approach ensures a structured pathway to belief for future generations.
