Every conscious human being has a purpose, an ideal, or an inspiration in life. They strive to achieve this ideal through effort and perseverance. A person without purpose is akin to an animal, living solely on instinct and fulfilling basic needs like eating and reproduction. Animals exist based on instinct, lacking a higher purpose. Such a life is considered base. The Quran emphasizes that a life devoid of purpose is animalistic. True humanity lies in having a defined goal and striving towards it.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was asked about the most virtuous form of migration. He responded that the most excellent migration is abandoning everything displeasing to God. This necessitates a personal assessment of one’s life and the eradication of actions contrary to the spirit of Islamic law. The lecture emphasizes immediate action, stating that the time for rectifying oneself is now, before it is too late. It's a call for sincere repentance and a commitment to living a life aligned with divine guidance.

It clarifies that the name 'Akbar' in itself does not equate to the name of God, as 'Allah Akbar' is a specific phrase denoting God’s greatness. The name 'Akbar' becomes associated with God only when prefixed with 'Al-' (the definite article). Therefore, using 'Akbar' as a personal name is permissible, as it does not inherently invoke the divine name without the necessary prefix.

The lecture defines true piety (taqwa) as being fundamentally rooted in earning a lawful livelihood. Outward displays of religious observance – such as beard length, clothing style, or the performance of numerous prayers and vigil prayers – are meaningless if accompanied by the consumption of unlawful earnings. Any acts of worship performed with illegally obtained wealth are rendered null and void. The core test of piety lies in the purity of one's source of income.

The Prophet Muhammad’s life exemplified a perfect balance between fulfilling obligations to people and devotion to God. He showed immense love and attention to his wives, ensuring their emotional well-being and rights were always met. Simultaneously, at the call to prayer, he would immediately and completely devote himself to worship, appearing as if unaware of his surroundings. This demonstrates a harmonious integration of worldly responsibilities and spiritual pursuits, highlighting the importance of both aspects of a balanced life. His behavior showed complete dedication to both rights of God and rights of people, a perfect example for all believers.

In his final days, Allama Iqbal expressed deep concern about the continuation of his mission after his passing. He feared a lack of capable successors to carry forward his work, drawing a parallel to the anxiety of Prophet Zakariya when he prayed for a son in old age. Iqbal worried about the potential inability of his relatives and those around him to follow the righteous path he advocated. He implored God for a devoted successor, mirroring Zakariya’s plea. This lecture explores these anxieties, referencing Iqbal’s famous verses, ‘Sarod-e-Raftbaz,’ ‘Nayeem-e-Az-Hijaz,’ and ‘Sar-e-Rozgar-e-In Faqir-e-Dagar Dana-e-Rah.’
