The Quran’s arrangement features a pattern of roughly equal sections, traditionally divided into seven manzil (stages) for those aiming to complete the entire recitation within a week—a practice common among the Sahaba. This division maintains the integrity of complete Surahs, avoiding the sectional approach of juz’ (parts). Following the introductory Surah al-Fatiha, the first manzil comprises three Surahs, the second five, the third seven, and so on, culminating in the extensive section known as the Hadb-e-Mufassal containing sixty Surahs. A key aspect of this organization is the alternating sequence of Makki and Madani Surahs within each group, creating a balanced structure. The arrangement notably converges at Surah At-Tawbah, marking the completion of both a manzil and a group of Surahs. From Surah Yunus, a new manzil begins, continuing the pattern. This continues to Surah al-Qaf, which initiates the Hadb-e-Mufassal, and a new grouping of Makki and Madani Surahs. The final group largely consists of Makki Surahs, with only a few Madani ones. These Surahs, particularly those of the final sections, are renowned for their linguistic beauty and are often considered among the most exquisite in the Quran.
