Abu Jahl, anticipating victory at the Battle of Badr, initiated propaganda claiming the day would decisively reveal who God favored. He believed his superior preparation would crush the Muslims. Ironically, God made that day, Yom-e-Furqan, the day of distinction, proving His support for the Muslims. Abu Jahl’s prayer before the battle, though monotheistic in its phrasing, stemmed from a desire to protect tribal bonds severed by Muhammad’s message. He accused Muhammad of dividing families and creating enmity between brothers and within households. God then addressed the people of Mecca, stating that the decisive outcome – the victory – had already been revealed, demonstrating where truth and falsehood resided.
