Those harmed by their wrongful actions – through slander, false accusations, or violations of rights – will present their claims, and the offender's good deeds will be allocated to compensate the victims. This lecture highlights the critical importance of earning wealth and performing religious obligations through lawful means, emphasizing that true prosperity lies in righteous conduct and the preservation of others’ rights.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated that some individuals, despite lacking worldly access or social standing, hold a high status in the eyes of God. Even a casual oath uttered by them is honored by Allah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) highlighted the exceptional status of companions like Abu Huraira and Abu Dharr, equating observing Abu Dharr with witnessing the arrival of Jesus (peace be upon him). These individuals represent the truly successful and blessed.

Effective training requires both encouragement and warning. Sometimes, firm discipline is necessary to correct behavior, while other times, positive reinforcement builds confidence and unlocks potential. The Quran utilizes both approaches – *tabshir* (giving glad tidings) and *anzar* (warning). Surah Al-Asr specifically highlights the consequences awaiting those who do not fulfill four conditions: faith, righteous deeds, advocating truth, and encouraging one another to uphold it. The word ‘Sawm’ (fasting) fundamentally means to abstain or stop. This encompasses ceasing from eating and drinking, halting speech, or even pausing physical activity. The Quranic verse from Surah Maryam references a vow of abstinence. Historically, ‘Sawm’ in pre-Islamic Arabian society denoted refraining from desires, including sexual activity. It also described a horse standing perfectly still. The term was adopted by the Quran to define the act of fasting as a form of worship, signifying a complete cessation of bodily needs and worldly distractions. It’s a comprehensive cessation, not merely from food and drink, but from all impulsive desires and worldly engagements.
